In 2011, Thailand faced the worst flooding in this part of Southeast Asia in 50 years, with more than 400 people killed and over 9 million people affected.
ONYX Hospitality Group Foundation joined hands with Raks Thai Foundation (CARE Thailand), our CSR Partner in Thailand, to provide emergency help and support for flood victims in Thailand. The Foundation raised fund and received donations of THB 925,585.96 to support two relief programmes:
It was reported that 200,000 mothers and children have been suffering from inadequate food contribution and necessary supplies especially for children.
To support women with infants and children who are facing the immediate impact of the disaster and lack the necessities for infant/children's care. Our Caring Package will contain power milk, clothing, health care & sanitary products, a family-size mosquito net.
500-1,000 women depending on the level of response (financial support) the programme receives.
This was completed early 2012.
